Saluting America's 24.5M Veterans

Hawaii extends its deepest appreciation to all, past and present, who have made the ultimate sacrifice. We honor the families who have been left behind and affected by those who have lost their lives in the fight for freedom.

About America's Veterans

Census Bureau statistics show that there are 25,000 veterans of native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander descent. Nearly 2M veterans are women, while over 30% of all living veterans, 8.2M, served in Vietnam. Today, 9.5M veterans are 65 years or older. Veteran's Day, called Armistice Day, was commemorated in 1918 after WWI.
