In January 2006, I attended a three day work related 'Director's Summit' in Wash. D.C. After meetings, I spent as much time as possible being a tourist, mostly at night, appreciating America's Capitol. I also visited Philadelphia, New York and New Jersey.

New Jersey 1) A Monmouth County squirrel, I fed a piece of peanut butter toast. 2) Jersey air-rail transit across Newark (Liberty) International Airport.

New York City "Top of the Rock," 71st floor observation deck, where the Center's 1930's Art Deco meets 1960's International-style, Avenue of the Americas, Midtown.

Washington D.C. 1) Due to meetings, free time was at night, I enjoyed the National Mall and walked by 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue each midnight. It is a great feeling to be in our nation's Capitol. 2) Capitol and reflecting pool. 3) Jefferson Memorial from the Japanese cherry trees along the tidal basin as a plane lands at (Reagan) Washington National Airport.

1) The Constitution, (Philadelphia 1787), National Archives.
2) '3 Servicemen' Statue near the Vietnam Memorial Wall.
3) National Cemetery, Arlington, on an 11:00 p.m. walk from Rosslyn.

Capitol Police K-9 unit, patriotic donky & elephant on 19th street near Dupont Circle.

1) Capitol reflecting pool, Washington Monument.
2) Library of Congress building.

1) Half moon over Capitol dome.
2) Union Station.
3) Democrats' USA Home.

Iwo Jima statue, under construction from chain link fence.

Philadelphia Independence National Historical Park between Chestnut and Walnut Street. This is a special place. It shows that often history is determined by only a small number of determined people. Here is where it all began, after the Boston tea party.

Wet cobble stone streets.

1) Liberty Bell Center, Market Street.
2) Ben Franklin Lives on 6th Street! Holy 'Spirit of 1776.' Does he recognize America or the Supreme Court's interpretation of what he meant?
