Photos: The vicious Waikiki Zoo lion water fountain, many drank but only one was brave enough to enter its (unsanitary) jaws. Snoopy and me in Moanalua.

Everyone fondly remembers their childhood. Here are a few FUN PICTURES from growing up in Honolulu to age 18 at the University of Hawaii, and time spent in New Jersey.

I am blessed to have a great Mom, Dad, sister, relatives, friends and neighborhood. My first home as a child was a small Waikiki apartment. My Mom worked as a waitress while my Dad was a Marine stationed at Kaneohe.

Photos: I believed in homeland security before we really needed it. The "pineapple triangle" in Wahiawa.

I was a male pageant winner, before it was cool for guys to be one. Actually, it's still not really cool for guys to be one.

Yes Father, women love a man in uniform.

Bon-bon sit, Tommy, get over here... No you stay Bon-bon, Tom!? Look at me Bon-bon. My Dad and me in Moanalua Valley and Spring Lake beach, N.J.

My first newspaper interview, brought my six-shooter.
On the back porch, Darrell and Jim.

Photos: Self portrait, meeting ducks and snow.

I kept my bazooka in the car in case of an emergency,
with my cousin at Sea Life Park by Makapu Beach and Rabbit Island.

Susan, my talented 7th grade classmate, was hired by my Mom to drawl a picture of one of our three German shepards. I named all three -Kaiser, Lancer and Bon-bon (Prince Boneville, right.) Pretty good German names, eh.

Washington D.C. - wearing my Primo beer belt buckle from the Aiea factory.

Photos: The tiki and me at Lewers Street and Don Ho Lane. My Kings Alley (today- King's Village) cartoon skater picture.

With relatives at the Waipuna condominium, notice
the original "Crazy Shirt," I am wearing in the garage.

One of my first jobs in college was at a Hilo Hattie kiosk at Duke's Lane, Waikiki. My sister and me at Honolulu Airport.

With my sister at Ala Moana and Waikiki beach, and a cartoon portrait from Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center in 1986.

Photos: The Kamehameha statue in front of the old Federal building. At home on the lanai in Waikiki.

I am lucky to grow up here and Honolulu residents are fortunate to live in a world class city. I value everyday and everyone around me. Let us preserve and honor our history and embrace our future.
